Re: sick fender guitar need help

There are two possibilities-- either the pickup has been damaged somehow, or the other electronics are to blame. If it's the pickup, you can buy a new one, I'd recommend either Kinmans (www.kinman.com), Lawrences (I think it's www.billlawrence.com) or a replacement Fender custom shop pickup.

If it's a cap or wiring problem, go here: http://www.kinman.com/html/toneWorkshop/tone.htm#WIROGRAMS for some PDF wiring diagrams. You can get replacement parts at www.allparts.com.

And of course you can always take it in to a guitar tech to look at.
