Success!!! My husband took the "sleeve" off the capstan and the speed changed, just like you said. The tapes so far are working "fine". Right now I am doing a Nat King Cole tape. He has Count Basie, and all the Big Bands. Now I can copy some of them. Thank you so much for your help, it is much appreciated. Carol
