No, seriously, Chapter 6 says what you want "Creating a CD" -- specifically 6.1 "CD Recording Settings". CD24(tm) is basically ISO-9660 CD-ROM disc format with AIFF sound files (these are both very standard).

Yeah, it can do pretty much anything. I don't have any 88.2 sources (well, my DVD, but I don't know any 88.2 DVD's). So can't say from experience, but when it did 24/96 -> 16/44.1, it didn't really ask. I mean, it asked permission to render, but other than that, it was automatic.
