I have a pair of double 18" subs that are 3dB more sensitive at 1W/1M than the other pair and the less sensitives one's program power is twice as great. I thought these subs should give the same SPL's at a the same distance but the less sensitive subs sound louder. I've tried these in the same environment with the same equipment settings. I've also heard if you want to double you sound you must use 4 times the power instead 2 times. Any suggestions?
