suggested resolution settings for Tascam DA-45HR

Hello fellow inmates,

I'm going to be trying my hand at a recording this weekend. The primary purpose is that I have been tinkering with what I call an "isomic" baffle. Kind of like a Jeklin disc, except not the same shape and lots bigger (8 feet).

For the microphones I have a pair of Neumann M-150s and a dpa 3529-A setup.

I have two of the Tascam DA-45HR DAT machines and was going to use both at the same time, so I can use both sets of mikes at the same time. If these recordings might end up as a CD...? The question is I have a choice of 44.1 or 48 AND a further choice of 16 or 24 bit. Should I use 44.1/16, 44.1/24, 48/16 or 48/24?

The recording will be of the local university's spring concert, in a hall that seats about 1600 and sounds quite nice.

BTW, I was "thinking" of the Nagra D, but the price (whew!) still has me only "thinking" and not yet buying.

Kind regards,

Ray
