Hello I'd like to ask your advice on choosing a stereo pair of nearfield monitors and audio receiver to be used with my PC for editing (2-channel only) live recordings.Basically I just want to get rid of my cheap PC speakers and replace them with something better yet < $300. The receiver will need to be in the same price range and have built-in Dolby Digital decoder and some digital i/f for interconnection to my Zoltrix Nightengale I/O card.
What I've heard from powered PC speakers hasn't been very good at all. This is why I'm thinking that the best way to go is with a receiver and decent quality speakers. Mostly I need help selecting the speakers.
Any help/suggestions will be appreciated.
