Ground strap is on.

I hooked up my Behringer mixer to the amp and its dead quiet - when playing through the mixer. It wasn't until I took the preamp out from the NAD preamp and plugged it in that the noise started. I hooked up my old Phase Linear 400 and it was dead quiet on the NAD preamp. Not sure where to go from here. Doesn't seem like anything is malfunctioning - so where is this buzz coming from?
