Problem with HHB 850 CD recorder

Hi:

I accidentally dropped a road case containing my HHB 850 CD recorder. Now, the CD loading drawer just comes in and out repeatedly, but the rest looks fine to me.

Does this sound familiar to any of you who own HHB CD recorders? I wonder whether this means that my laser assembly took a hit or if it has more to do with sensors and an upset cam or something in the mechanical mechanism.

The inernals are probably identical to the standard Pioneer transport, from what I have read.

Also found out that HHB apparently no longer manufactures a single drawer CD recorder and discontinued their BURN-IT model.

Any suggestions?
