If you connect the synth between the SL1200s and the mixer the synth gets an extremely low level signal with no bass to speak of, you will have to turn the synths input gain and output level way up to hear anything. The first port of call for vinyl output is always a phono pre, two of which will be built into your Vestax, before you can do anything sensible with the signal.
So in your case the correct set up would be: SL1200->Vestax->Synth->Yamaha (Aux input)-> speakers.
Problems will arise if your synth has no bypass (ie it is not able to pass an unaffected signal) or if you want to 'treat' the output of one deck with the synth while keeping the output of the other clean. If your Vestax has not got insert points you will then need a regular mixer that does have them.
