a Presonus Firepod (aka FP10) and the FireStudio interfaces for a number of years now. They work quite well with my other gear and I've not had the problems you're experiencing with hum - once I figured out that the laptop I'm using caused a severe problem with noise on the ground lines.
Right now, the Firestudio is serving as my main preamp driving a Hafler P500 amp and a set of Quad ESL63s. Most of the audio I stream off the internet or via FM tuner. I use ASIO for the streaming via Foobar2000 and its worked quite well. In fact, I'm thinking now that I may just keep the Firestudio in the chain when I move into the new house.
I think you're on a similar track as me. I don't have experience with the TC gear, though.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
David
