Hello, I was hoping someone could give me some advice.
For the past three years I have used my living room as a recording studio. Very basic, folk music, sometimes with a live audience. I have always had a bit of pro equipment combined with audiophile gear for a home studio/listening room. The results have been mixed.
My question is, how do people feel about a professional processor (i.e. preamp) sourcing a quality power amp, such as the the Parasound A23? My hope is that I can plug everything I have, including a Mac for doing direct to disk recordings, into one unit, but still output in high fidelity. The processor is the t.c. electronic studio konnekt 48.

My current setup is an integrated Marantz (PM-17SA) powering a pair of Dynaudio Audience 42's. The problem is, I believe the setup is underpowered (60 or 100 watts into hungry 4ohm speakers), and because I have a mix of pro gear the Marantz does not stay happy: with a Tascam CD Player/Recorder plugged in, after a while, I get a noticeable hum, and it definitely has a different ouput level than my non-pro components.
I am looking to the Parasound A23 for my power, and the studio konnekt to process my various sources, same Dynaudio speakers. Does anyone have concerns that this setup is going to sound worse than using the Marantz, or that the output quality of a piece of pro gear (such as the studio konnekt 48) just won't be up to par?
Thanks, and sorry for the long post. (Also posting in Amp/Preamp Asylum)
