I have a 15 year old son who is already quite a musician (guitar, piano, and drums) as well as a very good songwriter (music, lyrics, and vocals). He recorded his first CD in December of 8 original songs, and he is writing constantly. So it's time to invest. He recorded his CD on a borrowed Mac using Garage Band, so he has some experience with that method, although I am open to anything. After all the instruments and lessons, I need to do this on a budget ($1000 or less), and if I could go PC, that would help. But I want to do it right. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Tascam DP-01? PC with Cakewalk? Mac with Garage Band? Thanks!
