I toasted lots of them babies.

I'd go with some selenium compression types..I have 6 D205TI's feeding a 6 by 6 biradial horn, 3rd order xover at 5Khz. My son toasted a pair of these, and a friend also did, but I've had good luck as long as I'm runnin the rig.

One on a 280wrms channel is ok if you know what you are doing, but for a kids band, I'd double up.

I know the 205's are no longer in production, but there are similar ones avail, try PE..

I think the eminence td2002's are also possible, get 16 ohmers, and double up.

Buy spare voice coils, at least 4. Just in case.
