Broken SPX1000

I've got an SPX 1000 that came up with a "Warning LOW battery" alert on start up. Once I changed the battery however, the warning didn't go away. As well, both input meters are maxed, and I get no audio in (??) or out. I've checked to make sure that the battery is good and that it is getting it's power into the required circut. It all checked out. I can choose presets and edit parameters to my hearts content. Any ideas out there on what the problem could be???
