Re: Classical guitar - pickup or mic?

Both Beyer and Sennheiser make some great instrument condenser mics that clip on near the sound hole, but they are nortorious for generating strange sounds. Get a cardiod one NOT AN OMNI! Like SSL said these are for PA not recording. Any good large diaphragm condenser and some good ribbons are premo for recording. My favorite FOR MID FREQ PLUCKED STRINGS is a Sony C48. But a Royer is also fantastic. The best! James
