USB-audio interface: Edirol UA-1EX vs M-Audio Audiophile?

I need to turn some treasured reel-to-reel tapes into CDs, so buying an external USB interface looks like a good idea. Right now I just have a PC with an internal soundcard.
I figure I might also use it to output internet radio from the PC to an integrated amp. Eventually I want a Squeezebox so this would be a stopgap, but it would be nice if it did a good job.
The obvious current choices seem to be the Edirol UA-1EX ($80) and The M-Audio Audiophile ($135). The much-praised ESI Waveterminal U24 seems scarce and expensive. Any advice? Am I missing an obvious option?
