Not true for async systems

drrd,

If there is an appreciable buffer in the endpoint and the async stream is not interrupted by the Computer then there will be no differences in jitter.

I have verified this with my Prism dScope III and my WaveCrest jitter analyzer that there is no differences in jitter in my products between applications and operating systems.

Now with Adaptive, SPDIF and most Firewire devices the computer does have an effect on that stream which can effect the jitter. This is why most companies have some kind of jitter reduction circuitry (reclocker, reclocker+FIFO, upsampler, JETT PLL whatever).

again people can you use some names. I hate these aliases. It would be nice to address people with a true name!

Thanks
Gordon
