are you not using a little too many exclamation marks in your reply here ?

while there definitely is no jitter in a file, the transportation/read&write/buffering procedures within a computer can surely add jitter to the signal.
a PLL loop can of course resurect most of that before it enters the DAC chip, but certain digital philosophies suggest that the jitter has to be tackled at it´s root, and not cured afterwards.

I´m sure you´re familiar with the cics approach :
