I just grabbed something cheap from Frys, it has no markings on it at all, clear outer jacket little black molded box at the end with one "A" jack.

Interestingly it DOES cause a problem with the transit when using Linux. The Linux USB driver doesn't load the firmware so you have to use a separate program for that. When using the active cable it adds another layer of hierarchy (its a hub with one port!) to the device id which means you need to change the id specified in the loader. I wonder if this might be causing a problem for your Transit based devices?
