Compression of drive

Just built a new audioserver (love Seagate drives.....absolutely silent even at 7200 RPM) Anywho, in Win XP there is an option to compress the drive, and furthermore an option to compress the "folder and all sub folders" vs. just the parent "folder". What should I do? Will compressing affect the sound quality, or will it even give me any more space? Any pros and cons would be helpful!
