See link below. The only audio features missing from the free version are WASAPI and multiple libraries. I have only tried Vista briefly, but preferred kernel streaming via ASIO4ALL, which does work with both the free version of J.River and Vista.

It's been several months now, but as I recall the sound between ASIO4ALL and WASAPI were identical but with ASIO4ALL the sample rate changes were automatic, while WASAPI (like the QuickTime engine that runs iTunes) requires manual sample rate changes.

Feel free to correct me if my memories are wrong.
