To be honest I haven't actually checked. Now that I have the FPGA S/PDIF receiver up and running I find little need for I2S. Once its synced to the external DAC the I found I2S to offer no advantage over S/PDIF when using the FPGA receiver.
I presume there is I2S in there to feed data to the DAC.
