Bernd,

I keep trying to think of a way to lose some battery voltage and it occurs to me to use a SCHOTTKY diode, which would be just about the right loss.

Do you have any thoughts about this (or anyone else for that matter!).

It seems perfect at the moment, who knows what tomorrow may bring?
