The image is clear as can be.

Maybe I should have waited to hear about the "wide-open" battery voltage to the MB. Of course, I should have but the excitement was overwhelming!

I can always try the one you suggest. One part of me is worried about the potential of too much voltage, the other LIKES the idea of unadulterated power (no manipulation by regulators) for the all important CPU.

It will be instructive to try them both out.

This certainly has the potential of solving the PS question. Of course, it means bringing another battery into the listening room!

I will let you know what I find.
