Bernd,
When I read over the INTEL application sheets for CPUs I got the feeling that there was some order/protocol for powering.
From what you have said I would assume, with the battery, once the switch is in the ON position all voltages come on simultaneously?
I guess I was confused by your use of the dc converter since you only spoke of 12-12. Are you saying that with the 12 volts battery you are using several (two or three) of these converters to get the needed voltages?
I would think if you like the results you have got, so far, get a BIG battery and all should be even better. The equivalent series resistance of the OPTIMA Red Top is minuscule, a very important specification for a power supply.
Your experiment has me inspired and ready to add more batteries to my listening room.
Just looked at DIGIKEY at dc-dc converters. I am wondering if one would be OK with letting the battery supply the 12 volts needed with nothing else but a bypass capacitor and use the converters for the 5 volts and 3.3 volts. Is this, in fact, what you are saying to do?
I see there is an OPTIMA Yellow Top battery with a 75 amp/hour rating. This might be ideal.
So how long was the sound GOOD with the 9AH battery?
I hope I am not asking too much but you can tell I am intrigued by your intrepid experiments.
Thanks, again.
Bye,
Rick McInnis
