I suspect your English is just fine. Though you have to give the language credit for not having words with three consonants and few compound words, though I like the thought of compound words. Any device that can add subtlety to language is good.
I would think learning to HEAR English is much more difficult than writing it. So many words that sound the same and can only be divined with context. Tricky for the unfamiliar. Trick for plenty who are familiar now that I think about it. I do not know how often this happens in Romantic and other Germanic languages.
The reason I went through my overlong introduction is that I am not sure if I got what you were suggesting we do.
Are you just minimally lowering the ATX voltage to just below 12 volts are going more drastic? Please tell me one more time.
Over the weekend I disconnected the internal fan on my ANTEC 430. The case gets slightly warm. My house is kept chilly so it might require the fan in the SE US summers. I also eliminated the IEC power cord input because I hate those things. I assembled a power line filer per Jon Risch and soldered my CARDAS power cord to its input and the output of the filter to the wires that were once connected to the IEC directly to the filter; soldered of course since I have no crimping gear.
Well, I thought it was worth the effort but who knows. It certainly cannot hurt since the filter does isolate, to some extent, the computer from the rest of my equipment.
I am always anxious to try these things so your note has made my day.
Please re-assure me how much lower you have attempted to lower the voltage. One wonders how much input voltage the MB based regulators require to behave at their best. How many different voltage regulators and different voltages are supplied by the ATX power cable? I have no idea.
Very interesting!
Thanks,
Rick McInnis
