a few weeks ago alfred (sonics) mentioned a case with a builtin dc/dc converter which allowed him to power his whole intel-atom330 system with an external 12v psu (single rail 12v, nothing else)during my experiences powering the gigabyte mobo with such a dc/dc converter (even batterie is possible, condensator mods are much more easy to apply) i found out that SQ did increase (to me) after reducing voltage at the atx 12v output rails.
i was corious if my antec psu has an apprpriate switch to lower voltage, and is has...
one of the moments i realy enjoy in lifethere is a potentiometer inside the psu-case which allows you to regulate the 12v output to a lower level. the potentiometer can be found on the PCB of the psu (close to the case)
if interested you can test for your self by adjusting the potentiometer counterclockwise until stop. the result at my side is exactly 12v output, BIOS says 11,97v
definitely unplug power before doing this! :-)
do at your own risk...in the past my system was set to 96k playback, with lowered voltage i begin to enjoy 192k, what ever that means....
maybe i am totaly wrong, it would be nice to get some feedback..
i like it
Bernddid you understand my crude english?
this is an absolute fiendly message :-)
