Well, it’s a funny thing.. I have 1GB OCZ PC-6400 which, by all reports, is v. good RAM. However, a few weeks ago, just for the hell of it, I thought to try 2x256MB ValueRAM (KVR533D2N4K2/512 PC-4200) which I had hanging around. The thing is, the ValueRAM easily improves upon the OCZ for SQ. And, it has no problem achieving 3-3-3-10 timings due, I suppose, to the cics recommended underclocking. So here I am, scratching my head and wondering why.. (Of course I suspect the reason is the low power consumption of the ValueRAM.) I have tried to get 1x512MB HyperX (as recommended) to compare with the ValueRAM & OCZ but as has been noted elsewhere that stuff is NLA. The 2x256MB ValueRAM is also NLA but it does point to the thought that the HyperX is not necessarily the grail. I say this because I would think the OCZ and HyperX are pretty much of the same family.Bling,
