To any interested:
If one is going to use 192 kHz upsampling, which is all I ever use, there is no question that the e7200 is the way to go.
I think my chip is one that requires more voltage than cics's. I guess this is not as much a potential problem now that cics is recommending more than the minimum possible voltage. This chip was manuafactured in Costa Rica. I have another one from, I think, Malaysia.
Before inserting the e7200 I had set CPU voltage to 0.875 thinking the e7200 would start with this. It did not. I had to clear the CMOS and re-set most of the BIOS setting. I set voltage to 1.0000. I will leave it there for a few days before venturing lower. As an aside it is interesting which settings revert and which stay as selected when CMOS is cleared.
BUT, the point of all of this is that the e7200 sounds much more full, robust, complete, effortless ... there is no comparison. I do not remember thinking e5200 diminished the sound when it was installed, but then I had received a working MB only a few days before so I had not the chance to re-aquaint myself. I can see I was more excited about really low voltage n the CPU than the sound. I am embarrassed (again).
So, maybe with no upsampling the e5200 could be worth a try and the slight savings. But for those going for a genuine cics cMP squared system, there is no other way than following the instructions he has given.
