Further to my reply below: I've had the new HDD running most of the time for a few days now, and temps are not going over 30. This shows that 3.5" HDDs can be suitable, when suspension-mounted, for PC audio, especially if you have a lot of files. I would need 4 x 250GB laptop drives to give the storage of this single 1TB HDD - less space, fewer cables, probably less noise, and no overheating problem.
