cPlay 1.0 Final (SSSE3) Released

At the download link provided (at SourceForge), there's 2 options for 1.0 Final:

[cPlay_1_0_Final_setup.exe] Works on all processors
[cPlay_1_0_Final_SSSE3_setup.exe] Requires an advanced processor

This SSSE3 release is a machine specific build for processors supporting SSSE3 instructions. At a very minimum, SSE3 can be used. Intel's Core 2 Duo processors (E1xxx, E2xxx, E4xxx, E6xxx, E7xxx, etc.) support these instructions.

You cannot use this version on non SSSE3/SSE3 capable processors, otherwise cPlay will result in a (invalid instruction) crash.

cPlay benefits from additional compiler optimizations with SSSE3 and is optimized for Core 2 Duo processors.

Please REMOVE previous versions before installing cPlay 1.0 Final (SSSE3).

- cics - correct me if I'm wrong, but SSE3 support in AMD would require compilation with different switches. - carcass93 09:05:54 08/01/08 (1)
