That is what I was afraid off, i.e. lot of manual work to get cover art.

Also, you said "with enough processing power".
What would you consider "enough"?

I wanted to use my old PC (Dell 2400) to start with untill I have old laptop currently used by my wife (year old Toshiba but can't remember of hand what it is).

I am afraid that by the time I buy fast enough PC, DAC and either sound card (or extra for DAC USB option) storage cable, software, time, I may be better of with good CD player.
