The best or possibly the cheapest solution may involve getting another DAC. I have a TC Electronics Konnekt 8 that has both D/A and A/D at 24/192 resolution. I paid less than $300 retail. I also have an Apogee FW MiniDAC which also has 24/192 resolution for $985 retail. I have used both unit to basically pass digital via firewire to other digital formats. Other people have used much more expensive DACs or cards to do the same thing. But if you have a Mac I would suggest that you just sell your present DAC and just get an Apogee Duet that does D/A and A/D at 24/96 resolution for $495.
