Thanks for the thought. I run this off a small rechargeable battery. The battery has the same plug size and the Opticus. I've tried both plugging the battery (it indicates that it has a full charge)and the power supply into the Opticus with the same sad results (it works intermitantly). So I'm thinking it's not the supply. But I'll try putting a multimeter on it tonight.
