Theob -

Interesting your Opticus failed to. I spoke with the guys at USB Stuff and they said that the Opticus is used in some pretty extreme industrial environments and that very rately fails.

This leaves me in a bit of quandry. I'm not real interested in a $190 product that has a reasonable probility of failure. On the other hand I have to run my USB cable about 25 feet.

I think I'll try the CAT 5 extender and see if it works for me unless anyone has anything negative to say about it sonically.
