Yes, I did check the box to let XP search the web for updates, but I have never seen that really do anything, have you?

I applied XP Service Pack 3 a few weeks ago. Thought that might be the problem, so I went back and got the usbaudio.sys from the SP2 .cab and overwrote the newer version.

Didn't help.
