The file is there but I cannot install it.

Try this and tell me what happens:

Right click on My Computer
Click on Manage
Click on Device Manager
Find your USB Audio device in the list and right click on it
Click on Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard
Click No, not this time then click Next
Click Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) then click Next
Click Search for the best driver in these locations
Uncheck Search removable media and check Include this location in the search
Click Browse and browse to C:\\Windows\system32\Drivers

Try to click on OK - it is "grayed out" and unselectable.
