The Benchmark has a brighter treble than the Lavry. Although the Benchmark's brightness enhances the sense of clarity on a small percentage of recordings, on the majority I found the Benchmark's treble distorted, ie, harsh and tizzy. The Lavry has superior midrange clarity.
