I was wondering if the same principle exists with the USB ports on the Mac Mini. I tried plugging my Nixon Dac into the first USB port and I think I hear an improvement in the quality of the sound. I had a friend over the other night and we A/B two different ports and came away with the same conclusion. I run 10.4.11 OS and use a Firewire HD to keep the bus activity for the Dac and HD separate. I'm starting to save my pennies for a Wavelength Dac as my next upgrade but it will take some time. I now use this as my primary source along with internet radio.
