Software -based Room EQ?

Now that I have my system working well i'm naturally interested in tinkering with a good thing (raise your hand if you've ever NOT done that with your system). I'm using Audessey room correction to very good effect with my home theater processor, and i want to know how to implement correction in my music system. I had a Tact 2.2 XP, but I didn't want another gain stage added to the music chain. I'd be interested in trying out their mini-preamp, but there is no local dealer, and lately I've been reading poor reviews about their service.
Therefore, I'm interested in looking at software solutions. I considered something like the new Dolby Lake processor, but that takes a very good person to set it up. While there is one in my area, he is very busy and never answers my e-mails or phone calls, so i gave up on him and and the Lake.

Thanks,
David
