KB950749 update has had no effect at all on my EMU0404USB or STHDA ASIO drivers. Look it up with Google to see what it does.

If it is this update you are talking about, then it can be removed in ADD/REMOVE program.

It may be that Norton is causing problems; I avoid their software like the plaque.

This is why I am wary of PC audio. If you are like Dawnrazor and does not update, then you be be loosing improvements. I try to use one PC to see if updates or programs have an effect, then install or not install on my audio PC. Don't always succeed.
