44.1 kHz; kmixer; ASIO, etc. etc. I've read all of that stuff and still find the whole process to be a major pain. ASIO4all works, then it doesn't, and more often than not it doesn't! Is it too much to hope for that I can connect a laptop to my Trends USB / MF DAC via USB and get great sound consistently and reliably? (within the limits of the kit I am using, that is).
My question. Can I upsample my lossless files permanently to 48kHz without adversely affecting quality? And if I did that, could I then use Windows XP without worrying a jot about kmixer and its degrading effects?
If there are +ves to this, which software would be most suitable for the task of upsampling?
BTW I swapped out my laptop HDD for a 320GB 2.5" HDD. 5 mins to do + XP reinstall. Now everything I've got is on my laptop in lossless format. Great move.
