I just wirelessly streamed a 24/96 file from a Macbook to both a first generation AEx and an AppleTV and used their optical outs in both cases. The file played fine on both with no issues. Unfortunately, the dac they're plugged in to gives no indication of the bit/sample rate that its fed. Does anyone know what these devices are putting out? 24/96 or 16/44.1? If the latter, is the SRC occurring in the Macbook or the devices? AudioMidi gives no adjustable parameters for wireless audio streaming and I've purposely set it to 24/96 for the 'default' ouput.
