Sounds interesting. Presumably your signal is hard wired with no wireless transmission. I looked at Berkeley's website and see that their DAC does not have a USB input, unless there's a new model that does. What signal do you feed it?

It does have a remote volume control - do you use that instead of a preamp, or do you use a preamp to control volume? I presume the + and - buttons on the front panel also adjust the volume. How does the volume control work (analogue or digital) and how does it sound?

The touch screen tablet sounds great. Presumably you use this to control the server, pick music to play, view CD artwork, etc. Can you rip new CDs onto the HD using the tablet and will it power up / down the server and HD? Also is it wireless, or do you have power and control cables to your listening position? That's what I'm trying to avoid - I want a battery-powered Bluetooth (or equivalent) touch screen tablet to control a Mac Mini - still looking!
