Fred,

It's best too look at USB View as with most PC's this will tell you if you are using a HUBBED or a direct USB port.

But what it will not tell you is if the port is wired from the motherboard and these are the worst culprits of problems.

In any notebook though this will not be the case as all the ports will be connected to the mother board.

ON A DESKTOP the front ports are almost always wired and will be a problem.
