I have a Vaio desktop; one of the best configured PCs I have had and presumably with the same controllers. Nothing else was active on the ports when I came across the problem.
I prefer to use dedicated ports for mouse and keyboard; not usb to avoid interference issues.
My point really was:- let those who use usb audio acknowledge and make transparent the issues; not hide them and promote the method of data transfer as being better than spdif, firewire , or anything else. And don't follow without query recommendations posted on "plug in your usb audio at the back".
USBs have been around for yonks and should have been "sorted" and without the problems that people regularly find. The fact that it happens is because PC people are simply blind to hardware interface problems and software issues.
