Being that you already have Macs and ethernet, I'd recommend Apple TV. And that's from someone who has Sonos and am very happy with it. The major concern for you is interfacing with your stereo and the ATV has RCA outs that will make that easy.

I would just do some searches on ATV both here on AA and over on the forum at Audiogon. You should find lots of good information. If you search Squeezebox, Sonos and Mac mini you'll find good info as well because the setups are kind of similar.
