I am happy enough with my Rotel gear, It was good at the beginning, but I am considering moving up to some tube based amps here shortly.

I think the mac is a great way to go, all new macs have a program called front row, and if you spend $20 on a remote, you can control it all via remote as long as you have a screen. A TV will also work.
