Just a couple of questions:
I presume you connect directly between your Mac and the DAC. The Mac must therefore be on your equipment rack unless you run a long USB cable. How do you control the Mac? Do you get up and go to the Mac, or do you use some other remote device? The supplied remote is pretty useless having no screen.
Are you happy with the Rotel stuff? My impression is that the rest of your kit is probably being let down by your analogue electronics.
How do you ensure that you don't loose your music if your hard drive packs up? I would prefer to use a Firewire connected external RAID drive.
It's a real shame that Musical Fidelity didn't think to include an analogue volume control in their DAC.
I am about to embark on a Mac based system, but I really need to be convinced that I can control it satisfactorily by a completely wireless device at my listening position. I'm now thinking of iMac or Mini with big screen on my equipment rack and wireless keyboard and mouse where I sit. Not entirely satisfactory as I would prefer to ban all video signals from the room, and I don't know how clear the screen would be from 10-12 ft away.
