System:

Modified thorens 166 mkII - origin live rega rb-250 - benz micro gold mc - avm preamplifier (german make)- terratec producer - HP 2gHz 1024 RAM windows xp

Software: audacity 1.3.3., playback through foobar 0.9.5.

It took me a while to figure out how to split recording into tracks and export to .wav, but now the whole process takes little more than the 45 minute length of the album.

I did get the album cleaned before starting. also had a specialist setup my turntable perfectly.

Bottom line: audacity is a cinch to use. Fantastic results, great dynamics, perfect recording level, minimal pops and cracks.

No 40x speed recording though, so i won't be ripping my entire 750-some LP collection!! Just the greats.
